| Tiivistelmä: | The survey provides an industry overview , looks at the major manufacturers and their market shares, and examines distribution, advertising and promotion, prices and margins, consumption patterns and prospects. The furniture industry is composed of many hundreds of small firms, and a handful of large and medium-sized ones. The trade bodies of note are the British Furniture Manufacturers (BFM), the Association of Suppliers to the Furniture Industry (ASFI) and the Furniture Industry Research Association (FIRA). After four years of decline, 1992 is likely to prove in retrospect to have been the worst year of the furniture cycle. The conditions for an upswing in 1993 are now in place. |
