| Tiivistelmä: | The status of the recovery of the consumer sector and the effects of the recent Budget on consumer prospect over the next 18 months and beyond are assessed in the review. The assessment is that the UK economy will show low growth in consumption for the rest of the decade on present policies. The forecast of consumer spending for the rest of the decade presents a rather depressing picture. Although most of the relatively high performers of the past will keep their ranking in the 1990s, their absolute growth performance has been considerably downgraded. |
