| Tiivistelmä: | Vermouth is a fortified wine which has been flavoured with various herbs and plant extracts. Supplies to the UK market come principally from Italy, the major producer of such wine. It is one of a group of products, albeit the dominant one, referred to collectively as aromatised wines. Included, by convention, in the category are some wine-based aperitifs of mistelles, mainly from France, such as Dubonnet and Saint Raphael. Some analyses treat vermouth and similar aromatised wines as part of a broader drinks category, referred to as the aperitifs market. |
