Tiivistelmä:It is examined how Western organisations are changing their production and operation processes to remain competitive in the global economic environment. Special attention is paid to the use of 'just-in-time' (JIT) manufacturing control systems and to the ways in which they affect human resources. Six recommendations are made to manufacturing firms when considering a transition to JIT control systems.
