Tiivistelmä: | The market for sanitary protection products reached a value of 270 million pounds in 1993, a 54% increase on 1989. The press-on towels sector has been the major growth area in recent years, fuelled by the launch of ultra-thin towels in 1992. Ultra-thins took an estimated 33% of sector value in 1993. The trend away from towels has been halted. The market has been characterised by a high level of new product launch activity in recent years. Major launches since 1989 include the entry of Procter and Gamble into the market. |
