Tiivistelmä:Anyone reviewing the success of home shopping initiatives in the 1980s would be likely to conclude that here was an idea that was not going to catch on in Britain. Many companies, attracted by the idea of tapping into the domestic market while bypassing the need for extra retail space, set up trial services. Most of these were withdrawn within a short period, none reported real commercial benefits and those which were counted successful were the schemes designed to achieve social objectives.
