Tiivistelmä:In 1993 the market for men's fragrances was valued at 220m pounds, of which fine fragrances accounted for 59% and mass market fragrances for 41%. Mass market fragrances command a higher volume share , around three-quarters of the market, as a result of their lower unit prices. In the recession men began to trade down from the premium-priced fine fragrances to the cheaper alternative, the mass market fragrances, thereby bringing down the overall value of the market.
