Tiivistelmä:Sales of VCRs have grown from 1.7m in 1991 to 2.0m in 1994. The average unit value, which had been falling, recovered to its 1992 level of 288 pounds in 1994, producing an overall market value of 587 million pounds. The household penetration rate for VCRs rose to 74% in 1994 and is expected to have reached 80% in 1995. First time sales, representing some 35% of the market, have been overtaken by replacement/additional sales (about 11% of households have now more than one VCR). The increasing number of households is offset by the reduction in household sizes.
