| Tiivistelmä: | Inter-organizational design and an interactive and dynamic set of relationships acting in concert with one another are often mentioned features of a business network (hereafter as: b-n./b-ns). However, organizations are facing difficulties in assessing (here as: assg., for 'assessment' as: assm.) the value of investments in their b-n. This study develops an assm. method and a tool to assess margin in b-ns. A method is required that can give a more detailed assm. on a variety of criteria, or key performance indicators: 1. cost reduction, 2. revenue generation, and 3. increased flexibility. The research method was tested in a real-life situation. It is concluded that it is indeed possible to develop a method for ex-ante assm. of margin to be applied in ICI-enabled redesign of b-ns., specifically, a method that can assess the relative change in margin for the business actors involved. |
