| Tiivistelmä: | This study examines the effects of environmental context (technological turbulence), industrial context (production technology routineness and product complexity), and organizational structure (formalization (here as: form.) and decentralization (here as: dec.)) on customer involvement (hereafter as: c-inv.) in product development (here as: p-dev.) comparing U.S. and Chinese state-owned enterprise (SOE) manufacturers. The results show that c-inv. in p-dev. is positively predicted by product complexity and form., and inversely predicted by dec. The results also show that the effect of form. is stronger in China. |
