| Tiivistelmä: | Recent literature has widely concentrated on the vast effect that IT has had on the outsourcing of companies. Only few researches have considered other sectors and the outsourcing of services there. One sector that has seen an explosive growth is the Engineering and Facilities Management (EMF). The article presents a market research study consisting of 15 per cent of outsourcing contracts in the Australias EFM segment. The contracts that were most successful were correlated to most successful actors, and five case studies were conducted to examine the managerial issues further. Four key success factors can be suggested on the basis of the apparent learning points of the study, these are: choosing the style and management of the contract, relationship management, innovation management and labour management. |
