| Tiivistelmä: | The next generation of (intelligent) manufacturing systems will effectively form distributed, reconfigurable virtual factories, in which humans, machines and programme moduls interact in dynamically virtual clusters. These dynamic systems are termed holonic manufacturing systems (HMS). A programme to turn this theoretical model into a positive system for 21st century is the HMS project, an international project addressing systemisation and standardization research, deployment and support of architectures and technologies for open, distributed intelligent, autonomous and cooperating (holonic) systems. |
