| Tiivistelmä: | Martin Crowe wrote his doctoral dissertation called The Moral Obligation of Paying Just Taxes in 1944, analyzing 500 years of theological and philosophical debate on the topic. This article summarizes, updates and expands on Crowe's work and the other more recent work that has been published on tax evasion from an ethical perspective. It presents and critiques three basic views on the ethics of tax evasion and raises some questions about points that have not yet been discussed in the literature. |
