Tiivistelmä:Traditional approaches to employee discipline is regarded as one resembling the parent-child relationship. A more adult model is proposed that can generate increased employee commitment. Commitment approach is based on the belief that discipline and punishment does not go hand in hand. By treating the employee as a responsible adult, the company earn the right to expect a reciprocal response. If the individual fails to live up to his obligations, more serious consequences, including termination, will occur. The benefits of a commitment approach to discipline with employee's,supervisor's and organization's perspectives are exhibited.
