| Tiivistelmä: | The role of quality cost analysis in the increase of efficiency of production is examined. The process of collection and analysis of cost data is reviewed. A classification of quality costs is presented. The relationship between quality costs and total production costs is demonstrated. Different kinds of index numbers are introduced. Some of the cost reduction potentials are investigated. Data on the quality costs in the German mechanical engineering industry are presented as illustrations. |
