| Tiivistelmä: | The telephone business in Germany is investigated. It is found that the customers of the big telecommunication firms are through long term leasing and maintenance at the mercy of these companies to a degree, which is without parallel in other sectors. The big three , Siemens, Telenorma /Bosch Telekom/ and Alcatel SEL dominate the 80 p.c. of the telephone equipment market in Germany. About two thirds of their turnover from the telephone equipment business comes from old customers. However, there are a lot of consulting firms in the country, which help investors to choose the most reasonable offering, that is, to get more telephones for less money. |
