| Tiivistelmä: | Strategy literatur views the firm as a bundle of resources and capabilities, and examines conditions tjat contribute to sustainable economic rents. For managers, the challenge is to develop and deploy these resources and capabilities to gain a competitive advantage and a superior return-on-capital. Decisions concerning these goals are ordinarily made in a setting characterized by uncertainty, complexity, and conflicts. This paper attempts to link the 'industry analysis framework' with the 'resource view of the firm' and highlights the human limitations in crafting firm strategy. |
