| Tiivistelmä: | In every decade of this century economists were faced with a difficult task; in the twenties: hyperinflation in Germany; in the thirties: the great depression; in the forties reconstruction of the economy.The fifties were marked by the economic development and by the new institutional regulation of the world economy, in the sixties the devaluation of gold, in the seventies the oil crisis and introduction of flexible exchange rates, and in the eighties the debt crisis.The article describes solutions and measures that have been developed by the profession and other relevant institutions for solving the debt crisis (i.e.Concerted Approach and Menu Approach; Banker's and Brady's programme , favourable conditions in the Paris Club, debt buyouts) to deal with new problems of the nineties. |
