| Tiivistelmä: | A specified theoretical model of emission reductions accounts respectively for voluntary and nonvoluntary behavior regarding the adherence to the Sofia and Helsinki protocols, which mandated emission reductions for sulphur and nitrogen oxides. An econometric specification is derived from this model, for the demand for emission reductions that adjust for the spatial dispersion of the pollutant. Model performs well for sulphur cutbacks , which are easier to control than those of nitrogen oxides. |
