Tiivistelmä:The nature of adaptive learning around new tecnology in organizations is explored in this paper. The process of problem solving involving new production equipment during early factory use is examined. It was found that adaption is a situated process that in different organizational settings contains different kinds of clues about the underlying issues, evoke different assumptions on the part of problem solvers, and offer different resources for generating and analyzing information. The findings suggest that traditional theories of adaptive learning and collaboration could be improved by taking into account that learning occurs through interacting in multiple contexts.
