| Tiivistelmä: | The impact of union militancy, size, democracy and centralization on wages, fringe benefits, and other bargaining outcomes is investigated. Using data on bargaining outcomes at the bargaining unit level, strong evidence is found that union characteristics affect bargaining outcomes. The findings suggest that organizational complexity reduces bargaining effectiveness, whereas democracy and centralization tend to change the shape of outcomes as opposed to size. |
