| Tiivistelmä: | The Japanese Just-In-Time and Zero Inventory concepts have received a great deal of attention in recent years. An important aspect of these concepts is setup reduction from which increased effective capacity results. A certain amount of time, as well as expense, is required for each setup within a multiproduct firm. By reducing the time required for setups, less time is required to carry out these setups. That time can either be used to reduce lot sizes or to reduce overtime. There is a multiproduct capacitated model with stationary deterministic demand rates for each product. This is the model of the European Organization for Quality (EOQ). |
