Tiivistelmä: | The role of quantitative methods in business decision making has been the focus of much attention. The current experience of South Africa is examined in the following areas: location of the quantitative function within the organization, the purpose for which quantitative methods are used and the personal attributes and educational background of quantitative methods personnel. The survey shows that the practice in South Africa tends to lag behind that of developed countries. The difference between local and international companies is not so great, but the desired position is different, with latter companies desiring a situation closer to that of developed countries. |
