| Tiivistelmä: | Recent studies evidence that the success of export activities undertaken is vitally influenced by the foreign orientation of managers in charge. A concept development in the Federal Republic of Germany for measuring foreign orientation and used to date in five countries was now applied to Austria. Using a sample of Austrian private sector manufacturing companies, the results gained in those five countries were rechecked. The specific situation prevailing in Austria is compared with the other countries where this management concept has been applied. It was found that some indicators of the foreign orientation are unsatisfactory in terms of measurement theory. However, the general validity of the construct was proved. |
