Tiivistelmä:Bankers should study banking ethics to help counter the pressures they are under in the modern banking environment. The most common immature complaints continued to be about charges and interests, followed by lending decisions. Among mature complaints, ATMs remained the most contentious area, but the numbers of complaints here have dropped - from 346 in 1992 to 222 in 1993. The reason for the substantial decline is that, under the Code, the bank can claim only 50 pounds for each series of disputed withdrawals unless it can prove that the customer displayed gross negligence. This means there is less incentive for dissatisfied customers to make a complaint under the Ombudsman's scheme.
