| Tiivistelmä: | New York as a financial center for foreign banks is developing fast. In 1983-84 newcomers arrived from LDC's, in 1986 from the OECD banks. Japanese and Swedes played a dominant role among the new entrants. There are 500 subsidiaries of Swedish firms in the US and the banks' task is to serve them. What concerns Japanese newcomers, they serve the needs of the small and medium sized industry which becomes more and more international. |
