| Tiivistelmä: | The Big Bang (the important financial reform of the London financial market) was bigger than most expected. Looking back, it becomes evident that permanent and fundamental changes had taken place in its structure, its nature and its character. The change was inevitable if the City was to keep up with the fast development of global banking and finance, especially in new York and Tokyo. However, these changes have coincided with several City scandals and a period of feverish takeover activity. Some problems stemming from new rules also need to be solved. |
