| Tiivistelmä: | Studies on the development, institutionalization, practical organization and functioning of technology assessment and similar activities in the United States and five European countries are analyzed. First, a rough outline of the conceptual framework used in the analysis of these case studies is provided. A short description of the most important technology assessment initiatives taken in the countries under review follows. Finally, an own vision on the role and possibilities or impossibilities of technology assessment is presented in the form of discussion theses, using this analysis. |
