| Tiivistelmä: | Self-management is defined through the theories of ownership and the several types of firms. The basic principles are analyzed and the characteristics of cooperative or the self-management firm are outlined. The various forms of self-management are discussed and some typical real life examples are provided. Contributions of economic analysis to the subject is reviewed. Several authors e. g. Meade, Dreze, Ward are referred to. Their respective contributions, essential points, such as the equilibrium of the firm in self-management, the problems related to the structure of the ownership rights, to the means of financial support and to risk management, are presented. |
