| Tiivistelmä: | Expert systems have paved the way for the employment of data processing for areas associated with in-company decision systems that could not be mastered with hitherto existing software systems. The strategic use of research and development resources is examined. The process of technology assessment is described. The most important characteristics of strategic planning of technology are explained. The concept of a technology-portfolio-matrix is introduced and its components are briefly reviwed. It is shown how a well-founded expert system can be effectively applied in support of strategic planning of technology. |
