| Tiivistelmä: | One of the most important weaknesses of strategic corporate planning is the inadequate handling of production and technology. This deficiency leads to losses in competition. The case of capital goods industry is examined in detail. The shortcomings of the traditional cost accounting system are described and analyzed. A new method is presented which successfully can be used for the assessment of production potentials of a company. It is shown how the necessary information system can be designed and developed. At the core of this information system there is a powerful system of index numbers. |
