Tiivistelmä:The report covers the Italian market for make-up and colour cosmetics (M&CC). In 1991 the market for M&CC, estimated at L986 billion, continued to expand with a growth rate of 8.4%. In real terms the market grew by 2.1% over the last year. Paglieri and Giraudi are the only significant domestic brands manufacturing in Italy with the multinationals importing most of their products. The single best-selling product in the market is still lipstick, sales of which were worth some L174 billion. In 1991 Italian exports of M&CC exceeded imports for the second consecutive year. The detailed statistics on sales, production, exports and imports, market sectors, retail prices, brands and manufacturers are presented.
