Tiivistelmä:This report reviews the Italian market for wine, including still, sparkling and fortified wines, vermouths and wine aperitifs. Unless specified as still wine, sparkling wine, vermouth etc, details given in this report refer to the total wine market in Italy, i.e. encompassing all of the individual product sectors. Wine sales were estimated at 3,740 million litres in 1992 marking a decline of 6% over the previous year and 13% since 1988. Wine consumption has long been in decline. It is estimated that since 1970 consumption has nearly halved.
