Tiivistelmä:This report concerns the French market for canned foods. This method of preserving food is known in France as apperitisation, so named after Nicholas Appert who invented the process. Strictly speaking, it is not limited to foods preserved in cans as manufacturers are increasingly packaging preserved foods in bottles and trays for aesthetic , environmental and practical reasons. Pet foods are excluded from the scope of this report.
