| Tiivistelmä: | The appointment of a socialist/communist government in Greece during the elections of October 1993 has raised a number of uncertainties about the immediate prospects for economic recovery. Twelve years after joining the european Community, Greece is still one of the poorer members and the most dependent on EC regional development aid. Lacking a terrain suitable for large-scale industrial development, Greece has been unable to expand its industrial or its trading base in the same way as Italy or Portugal. |
