Across the key markets usage rates differ widely, with consumers in several countries reluctant to use antiperspirants as they are deemed unnatural. The deodorants market is characterised by increasing segmentation with products focusing on specific consumers' needs. The northern European countries of the UK and Germany are relatively heavy users of deodorants , reflected in higher market values, whilst deodorants play a more peripheral role in the Mediterranian countries of Italy and Spain.
