Tiivistelmä:This survey analyses the retail market for domestic air fresheners and insecticides in Italy. The market has been divided into air fresheners and insecticides. Air fresheners are defined as products with both suppress odors and perfume carpets and rooms. The insecticides focuses on chemicals which kill or inhibit indoor household insect pests. The market is reaching maturity. The freshener sector performed better, thanks to new product launches, the other sector was negatively affected by weather conditions.Value sales of the air fresheners grew by 14.8% over the review period, the other sector registered a negative trend decreasing by 3.3%. Overall the market increased by 7.2% over the period. Euromonitor predicts the market to grow by 15% in real terms between 1997-2002, to be worth L540.7 billion at constant 1997 prices.
