Tiivistelmä:The key drivers of growth were innovation, the launch of premium-priced, value-added products and intense promotional activity. Products which impacted strongly on each of the markets incorporated natural and skin-friendly elements, used innovative packaging, were technologically advanced in application and new in formulation. Accompanying new product innovation was market segmentation with niche sectors evolving in line with new products focusing on specific consumers' needs. In more mature markets the line extension of premium fragrances to include body sprays and deodorants aided market growth. Sprays continue to dominate the deodorants market and the popularity of pumps and acceptance of environmentally-friendly aerosols has contributed to a revival in demand.
