Tiivistelmä: | This paper presents a survey and analysis of comparative research methodology. Cross-cultural methodology research has a multi-disciplinary and rich tradition. Much of the focus in recent years has been in the area of marketing and consumer research. Some aspects of firm activities are more affected by cultural differences than others. Somewhat surprising was the relative neglect of cross-cultural issues in such critically important and potentially culturally sensitive areas as for example global sourcing. The filed is ripe for appropriate cross-cultural studies of sound conceptual and functional design in such relatively neglected areas of comparative research. The quality and scope of comparative research being undertaken by the non-english speaking part of the academinc world is another issue woth looking at in the cross-cultural context. |
