| Tiivistelmä: | This article evaluates the effects of Swiss active labour market programmes (henceforth as: a-l-m-prgs.) on the unemployed workers' chances of getting work. Two important dynamic evaluation estimators (here as: estmts.) are compared: 1. the 'matching' estimator and 2. the 'timing-of-events' estimator. Both estmts. are found to generate different treatment effects. According to the 1st one, temporary subsidized jobs shorten unemployment duration whereas training programmes and employment programmes do not. In contrast, the 2nd one suggests that none of the Swiss a-l-m-prgs. shortens unemployment duration. |
