| Tiivistelmä: | By examining the compositions of party incomes and spending parctices, this article evaluates patterns and trends in fund raising. It uses official party self-reported accounts and other data for 2001-2005. The article suggests that succesful explanation of the development of Bulgaria's post-1989 party system must include the rules governing funding of political organisations. It concludes that the specific public funding regime led to the emergence of three tiers of parties. |
