Tiivistelmä: | Governments in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe are facing a "liberalisation dilemma". Ín those countries, the state is considered as a dominant player in the field of industrial relations. Those governments must balance between the demands of liberalized markets and their compensatory role(setting minimum wages, extending collective agreements etc.) This paper analyzes the basic trends and patterns of industrial relations systems in the eight CEE countries. The findings are used to consider the case of minimum wages in those countries. The study states two general problems. First, there is a gap between the EU law and its national implementation and control. Secondly, the "permissiveness" of the industrial relations means difference between legal norms and national practices. |
