| Tiivistelmä: | This article investigates unemployment and the employment policy in Denmark in the 1930s. The estimated numbers of total unemployment differs quite a lot because the records are based mainly on data from unemployment insurance funds. The author evaluates the reliability of the existing Danish unemployment data and gives an assessment of the employment policy. Unemployment remained high on the political agenda during the 1930s, but disagreements in parliament hindered political consensus on the means to improve the employment situation. |
