| Tiivistelmä: | The empirical analysis of the essay shows that the real exchange rate between RMB and US dollar is lowly-estimated rather than highly-estimated; the exchange rates between RMB and some other currencies are highly-estimated to a certain degree. This is caused by the overdepreciation of these currencies, but these exchange rates have already bounced back and this trend will continue. Therefore, the highly-estimated exchange rates between RMB and these currencies needn't be eliminated by the depreciation of RMB. Furthermore, this essay explores some problems deserving notice in the analysis of real exchange rates. |
