Tiivistelmä: | As a practitioner in the area of organizational learning, the author intrigued by the related but newer, sexier, 'knowledge management' (KM) arena. Motivated by curiosity into what insights the author might gain by adopting a knowledge management perspective, he recently embarked on a period of research and reflection. This article sprang from this activity. Four applied models of knowledge creation emphasize the business value of knowledge management. Collaboration with IT-based specialists could bring greater momentum to organizational learning initiatives. After researching four models of knowledge creation, each of which had been applied in different organisations, the author concludes the business value of knowledge management needs to be emphasised. |
