Tiivistelmä:So you are involved in organisational change. You have tried all the rational and scientific approaches you know. You have applied all the latest theory and exercised all the appropriate tools. Yet somehow, there are still some in your organisational audience who are disengaged from the communication. Stories are excellent ways of eliciting opinions, airing doubts, identifying options and contemplating fears. Stories, by removing the subject matter to a hypothetical level, give permission to discuss and debate difficult and complex issues. They are a special kind of communication tool, designed to create a safe space in which people can learn, exchange views, and try out the beliefs and values of others, at no risk to themselves.
