| Tiivistelmä: | Dominant perspectives on organizations typically assume that technological imperatives determine control mechanism. Shown is that control imperatives frequently determine technological choices. Attempts to determine the causal priority of technology or control are misguided. While these two subsystems are interrelated, the dynamic model proposed here views this relation as non-causal in character. With this model organizational change is viewed as the outcome of attempts to facilitate the congruence between an organization's technology and control system. |
