Tiivistelmä: | Today, America is facing an enormous economic challenge and loses its position of global leadership. The "stakeholder concept" as a basis for the economic renewal is discussed. The shift from a "production" orientation to a "marketing" orientation in the late 1940s is assessed. Today the shift to a stakeholder orientation has its intellectual roots in the ideas of "systems theory". This theory tells us that the survival of the firm depends on the efficiency of the overall system, of which it is a part. Several forces driving the currents shift are referred to. A successful industrial policy must be specific to the USA history and culture. Preconditions for the long-term prosperity of a company are summarized. |
