| Tiivistelmä: | Consumption of cigars has fallen by 17% over the last ten years, slightly more than for cigarettes but less than for other tobacco products. Around 1.2bn cigars, worth 470m pounds were sold in 1994. Imports come mainly from the Netherlands, the USA and, in the case of fine cigars, Cuba. Cigar smokers tend to be male, upmarket and in the older age groups. The market is dominated by Gallaher and Imperial Tobacco, which distributes Henri Winterman products in the UK. |
