| Tiivistelmä: | Writers on corporate social responsibility argue that as most corporate activity is embedded in a network of stakeholder relationships, changes towards greener industrial practices need to be appreciated in terms of stakeholder interests. This paper argues that industrial responses to 'green' pressures may fruitfully be explored using a stakeholder framework. How managers identify, define and construct stakeholders is an important feature of the meaning of greening and an industry's response. A qualitative study of managers in 4 UK industries (supermarkets, automotives, power and chemicals) is reported. |
